This is an alternative woodcarving knife, great for those who want to start carving. It is also easy to re-sharpen so you can experience enjoyable carving over and over again.

With a barrel-shaped oiled Scandinavian birch wood handle and an approximately 2.5 mm thick, tapered laminated carbon steel blade, you can take your creativity to new levels. The full tang which runs the full length of the handle provides both strength and stability in every cut. The birch wood barrel-shaped handle gives you the option to shape it as you want it. The knife should always be in the leather knife sheath when not in use, partly to minimise the risk of cutting injury but also to maintain sharpness. Carbon steel will rust, so wipe and oil the blade after use. The characteristic woodcarving knives are highly regarded around the world and are well known for their excellent sharpness and high quality, not least because they are used by skilled craftsmen in Nusnäs, where one of Sweden’s most famous national symbols, the Dala horse, is made.

Carbon steel blades should be kept dry and lightly oiled when not in use to avoid rust.

The area of Mora, Sweden has been producing knives for over 400 years. Morakniv was started in 1891 by Frost-Erik Erson and has developed into a world recognized brand making affordable, high quality knives for wood-carving, bush-craft, and general utility and outdoor use.
