These incredibly soft towels are made in Japan from a traditional stitching technique called Sashiko. Sashiko has been used for decorative and functional reinforcement of cloth since the Edo period (1615-1868). These towels are made from a quadruple layer of gauze, making them strong and absorbent yet being able to dry quickly.

The company that makes them has been making towels for 120 years, and they are able to use water from a mountain range that is blessed with soft water allowing for very little content of heavy metals. This allows the towels to have a delicate and incredibly soft touch, while allowing for the colors to remain vibrant. Each towel is tested by putting it in water and mandating that the towel must sink within 5 seconds of placement.

Available in two colors, deep blue with navy stitching, and white with blue stitching.

Comes in beautiful washi gift wrapping.
