This series is a joint effort made in the Dalston, London, UK between Allday Goods and David in Sheffield, England a fourth generation knife-maker. Sheffield has a rich history of cutlery making and is the birthplace of stainless steel.

The blade is N5MOV hardened to 58 HRC, it has good stainless properties and is easy to look after. Blade is ground thin but is not more flexible than what most want in a good bread knife.

The handle has been made from plastic waste from the UK which would otherwise be in landfill. It is collected, washed, shredded and melted by hand into their octagonal shape. Every handle is a one-off and no two will ever be the same.

Allday Goods is operated by a small team led by Hugo Worsley. Born from a desire to do something productive with the vast amount of plastic waste generated in restaurant kitchen, Allday Goods uses British and Japanese-made blades set in handles made from recycled plastics like Maldon Salt Buckets, used milk bottle handles, discarded plant containers and old fishing nets that have washed up on UK shores.

This is a stainless steel knife. It should be hand washed and towel dried. Habitual dishwasher use will result in degraded edge and handle. Consistent long term exposure to moisture can lead to oxidation.

Use on a quality wooden cutting board will help the knife stay sharper for longer. Use on hard surfaces like plates and bamboo will reduce the edge life and can result in edge damage.
