A versatile apron made in Japan that can be used 2 ways, either as a full-body bib style or folded in half and tied around your waist, with a functional large pocket in the middle.

This apron is made with a traditional Japanese textile called Kokura-Ori, a style of textile making that has been around for 400 years since the Edo Period.

The fabric is thick and strong yet soft to the touch, and was used to make hakama (samurai pants) and obi (kimono sashes). It was even rumored among the samurai that "spears would not be able to penetrate the Kokura-Ori". It's durability also led to Kokura-ori being used for school uniforms as well. The unique striped design of Kokura-ori comes from the fact that there are twice the number of vertical threads being used than horizontal, leading to a gradation effect of vertical stripes that appears almost 3 dimensional.

Cold wash recommended.
