Stainless suminagashi clad VG10 stainless steel with linen micarta handle. Nice finish grinding with convex faced blades, polished spine and heels with a attentive finish to the handles.
Smooth cutting with good edge life and a misty suminagashi cladding. Suminagashi means ‘floating ink’ and is the Japanese term for pattern welded steel which is colloquially known as 'damascus'. In itself it doesn’t impart any extra performance to the knife, but is a chance for the knife maker to be creative and add an extra visual dimension to the knife.
Avoid scrubbing the cladding with abrasives, but expect small scuffs from use over time. Made more robust with double metal ferrule on pakka wood with a western influenced ergonomic shape.
This series comes with a 80/20 right hand edge on the blade, please note some of the 80% sides have bevels ground into the cladding at the tip. It is possible to grind for ambidextrous 50/50 if desired.
