Tetsujin Hamono is a collaboration project between Tora Tomura and Myojin Naohito in Tosa in Kochi prefecture Shikoku Island, Japan.
Tora-san forges an aogami 2 carbon steel and soft iron blade that Naohito-san gives a convex hamaguri grind with an elegant hazy finish on the soft iron. The carbon banding in the iron formed during forging is accentuated by Myojn Naohito's superb finish work.
Being non-stainless care must be taken to avoid rust, do not soak or leave food on knife. A dark patina is expected to form on the blade with use. Do not use on dense foods like bones, frozen foods, winter squash, etc. Avoid twisting and scraping.
