Hand forged aogami 2 carbon steel with faceted western handle made from stabilized mango wood with subtle carbon fiber and bronze spacer. This knife is right on the line between a small chef knife and a large petty. It has just enough height to work well in the heel with a forward rocking push cut but also is narrow and nimble in the tip to be super precise and able to be used like a petty.
Forged from bar stock, oil quenched and heat treated to approx 63 HRC. The steel is heat treated with and emphasis on hardness and to up it’s potential for great edge life while still retaining some toughness.
Blade is ground with a convex grind and steep distal taper going from .14” at the heel to .04” behind the tip.
Troopah Knives are handmade by Malachi Chou-Green; a young knife maker born and raised in San Francisco who discovered his passion for knife making in middle school and has been developing his craft ever since, we are really happy to introduce his work.
