These dish clothes are made of cotton, washi (traditional Japanese paper) and the seeds of Ume plum, blended with a specialized technique into four layers for an incredibly soft, washable, water-absorbent towel that dries quickly. 

In Wakayama Prefecture (an area known for their ume producing), more than 1 ton of ume plum seeds are discharged daily from ume plum processors-- all of which are discarded as industrial waste. These towels were created by focusing on this environmental problem, as well as on Ume's unique antibacterial, moisture and odor controlling abilities. 

Additionally, it has high biodegradability since it uses is an organic fiber.
