Light and delicious biscuits from Japan, a very satisfying snack with tea or coffee. A little salty, a little sweet, a lot of nostalgia.
These biscuits are an example of how our travels in Japan sourcing knives can lead us to other amazing finds-- the government official helping coordinate things in Japan one day gave us a bag of these delicious cookies as a small gift.
We ate some and immediately inquired how we can bring them back to our customers (and staff).
Established in 1912 in Kochi prefecture, Nomura started out as a bean snack company. In 1955 they started making the Millet biscuits, and the recipe has remained unchanged since then.
Mire biscuits were also made by other companies in Japan, however Nomura's Millet biscuits have a unique rich flavor due to the bean-infused oil they use to fry the biscuits.
Caramel: Biscuit dough (wheat flour, sugar, shortening, glucose, salt), vegetable oil, caramel sugar (granulated sugar, salt)/leavening agent, fragrance
Made in a factory that also processes peanuts, eggs, dairy, soba, shrimp, sesame cashew
