Yuzukararin is made with yuzu citrus, chili peppers, and salt, giving it a bright, fresh acidic yuzu flavor with salty and spicy peppery notes. It’s great in soups, on grilled proteins, and of course on rice, tofu, or noodle dishes—even fruit and desserts like ice cream. Spread infinitely.

This product is produced and manufactured in Mihara Village in the Kochi Prefecture, a nature-rich area famous for its citrus, especially yuzu. Whenever we travel to Japan and get a chance to go to Shikoku, there’s usually two important jobs outside of knife-related stuff; trying to get tired of the locally caught katsuo and stocking up on yuzu.

We are very excited to share a taste of the island vibes from Japan’s least-populated island, Shikoku.

Using 4.8 yuzu fruits per 35 g jar, Yuzukararin is a distinctly higher-quality product than other yuzu products on the market for several reasons. Other companies use the entire peel and sometimes even the pulp of the fruit itself, which has a noticeably bitter and acidic taste and also requires additional salt and preservatives to counteract the moisture, which would otherwise lead to spoilage.

Yuzukararin only uses the surface portion (zest) of the peel, and then uses a patented centrifuge technique to remove any additional moisture—allowing it to be shelf stable even without preservatives or excess salt.
