Whatever preconceptions you may have about dried fruit snacks, throw them out the window with these decadent citrus peels from Japan.
We are thrilled to be able to offer you five kinds of citrus fruits, all grown in Ehime Prefecture which is famous for producing the best citrus in all of Japan. They have been made with a traditional method which is time-consuming but retains the natural flavor and aroma of each citrus. No food colorings, flavorings, or preservatives are used.
Yuzu has a soothing aroma and a pleasant bitterness while Amanatsu highlights a sweetness with a gentle sourness. Iyokan exhibits a rich citrus flavor reminiscent of freshly squeezed juice. Kawachi Bankan has a grapefruit-like refreshing flavor while Blood Orange boasts a vibrant orange color and concentrated umami.
There is an endless array of ways to enjoy these peels, from a quick snack on the go, to pairing them with one of our equally decadent green teas from Japan. (May we suggest the Gyokuro or the Matcha, or even the powdered hojicha?) Also amazing in cocktails or mocktails!
You can also use the peels in your cooking—add them as toppings on desserts like muffins, pies, cakes, doughnuts, pastries, ice cream and yogurt. Or you can even mix them into the batter for baked desserts. Also recommended is to use them to make chocolate bark. Add your choice of Dry Candied Japanese Citrus Peel and nuts to melted chocolate, spread the mixture on a flat pan and wait until it hardens. Your original chocolate bark will be a great gift.
Ingredients: Yuzu, Amanatsu, Iyokan, Kawachi Bankan, Blood Orange, Beet Sugar, Millet Jelly, Ascorbic Acid.
Each product is 1.05oz
