Vintage set of 6 early stainless steel dinner knives and nickel-plated carbon steel forks with nickle ferrules and butterscotch celluloid handles. Made by JA Henckels in Solingen, Germany, in the 1920s most likely for the American market with the English "No Stain Twin Sharp" marking. The USA was a big market for Henckels starting in the 19th century and it was a good bet for them. Trade with the USA enabled Henckels to become one of Solingen's biggest makers by the 1920s.
While "No Stain Twin Sharp" was used up to the 1950s the forks are the giveaway here, the long narrow tines and the small bowl of the forks as well as thier nickel plated carbon steel construction are the 1920s calling card.
In good condition, there are some rust spots on the forks, and wear to the factory edges on the knives otherwise nice and sturdy. .
