Hand forged after drop forged and hand ground carbon steel slicer with 14" blade and rosewood handle. Blade was sharpened in enough to warrant a thinning here at Bernal Cutlery, the blade now has a fine behind the edge convex face with a fresh edge.
Blade mark LF&C Universal is lost, but the telltale Blue Diamond mark on the handle is clear, the square deep ground bolster is another LF&C calling card even with no marks it would clearly be a LF&C.
Once the largest knife maker in the USA and one of the largest in the world LF&C's New Britain factory made some especially high quality knives that blended hand work and industrial process. This knife is a great example of that.
