Kitayama #8000 Whetstone w/ Nagura and Wooden Base

Fine 8,000 grit synthetic whetstone mounted on a rot resistant wooden base. Comes with nagura.

The Kitayama 8,000 stone is a mix of mostly synthetic and small amounts of natural grit, perfect for obtaining a very even, fine polish. It is ideal for yanagiba ura and other knives that require a high polish and less tooth. Although at our shop, we prefer finishing on the Takenoko 8,000 for most double bevel knives, the Kitayama is our stone of choice for a brighter polish and a finer tooth.

Use the nagura stone to raise a fine mud; it will speed up the polishing process. Also use nagura for resurfacing the face of your fine stone after flattening with a coarser grit.
