Hand forged carbon steel with imitation ivory celluloid handles and striking Art Deco influenced buttcaps in original box.
Blades are very full although some "sharpening" had been done leaving some coarse scratches on the sided of the blades, otherwise these are in great shape and in their original fitted box.
The Wilds were a cutlery making family, the Hiram Wild started out on his own in the 1860s, this set would date from the era of his son John Arthur Wild who used the trademark Equal in the 1920s
Large knife has balde 9.25" from tip to handle (including bolster) and smaller poultry knife 6 3/8" from tip to handle. Fork guards are springy and fluted sharpening steel free from damage.
A little bit of the cutlers cement; (a rosin, brick dust and beeswax mix hard at room temperature) has come loose in the buttcap of the large knife, every thing is secure mut it makes a little jingly noise when shook. Good for in between course entertainment.
