J.A. Henckels French 'Nogent style' 7.25" semi flexible slicer made most likely in the mid 1920s to mid 1930s with hand forged after drop forged carbon steel blade and set with a brazed seam nickel ferrule (old style) and ebonized fruitwood (pear?) handle. This knife represents an interesting turn of the century to pre-WW2 French style that was made in response to the immense influence of French cuisine and the French model of the restaurant at this time.

There are a few tight hairline cracks on the handle but it is nice and stable.

Note: This knife's handle has been set with lead which was visible in two points behind the ferrule and at the pommel, these have been sealed with epoxy but lead might still be present, recommend this knife is not used with food and only be purchased for a collection.
