J.A. Henckels Dinner Knife and Fork Pair (One Pair 2pc) Stainless Blade Nickel Plated Carbon Fork Coin Silver Solingen 1920s

Antique dinner knife and fork set made in the 1920s by J.A. Henckels of Solingen, Germany. The knife is marked "Nicht-Rostend," which was a term for stainless steel used before "stainless" or INOX became standardized. In keeping with the time, the forks are not stainless; rather, they are nickel-plated carbon steel, as stainless forging is not as easy as carbon. 

These show signs of use but no major damage; the hand-ground blades are in great shape

Knife 5 5/8" blade, 10 1/4" OAL, Fork 8 1/2" OAL

NOTE:  The hollow coin silver handles are filled with rosin/brickdust/beswax cutlers cement; they are nice and secure, but will soften with high heat. Absolutely keep these out of a dishwasher, soaking in very hot water, or sitting on a hot surface, as they will fall apart.
