New Vintage Vorex Nogent Cuisine Massive 28cm / 11" Slicer Stainless Thiers, France 1960-70

Vintage Vorex Extra cuisine massive (aka Nogent style) drop forged stainless steel, aluminum ferrule and iron ink dyed beech handle in unused condition.

Nogent style knives are characterized by their one piece handles, with a rat tail stick tang. ‘Cuisine Massive’ was used to describe the style in Theirs, as Nogent was a rival knife making city.

This knife was made in Theirs, France in approximately the 1960‘s, it was found in a lot of knives dating from the 1930s to 90s but judging from the materials and work this is 1960s. 

I believe this was drop forged and not hand forged and not ground on the old water wheels, the blade is a bit convex but is more regular than the hand ground. 

No dishwasher or soaking.

This knife comes with a fresh sharp edge. It is the only one found in the lot and has a crack on the handle, it is stable and solid but might need some glue for long term stability.
