Unmarked but very German looking 12.25” chef knife with hand forged after drop forged blade ground thin in the tip half and stout at the heel. Handle has old style brass disc and steel pin rivets with blocky handle with small birds heads pommel.
Markings are gone but more likely than not this is a J A Henckels which were the bulk of the high quality knives imported from Germany to the USA at this period.
It has been refurbished and had seen heavy use, however no serious neglect or mistreatment other than some deep grinding marks on the face of the blade which have been buffed out. It is sharp and ready to get back to work.
12.25x1.5” blade tapering from .25” just under 18” overall length
