Morihei Hishiboshi 12,000 grit Karasu stone is a fine finisher made with natural and man made abrasives formulated for Morihei to his specifications to cut like a natural stone with the consistency of a synthetic. This semi soft stone has an easy going feel, great for wide bevel polishing or narrow double bevel work, it does great in a progression with other Morihei stones. Like a natural stone these are best not soaked although they will not suffer as quickly as a natural from soaking. Just soft enough to generate it’s own mud with sharpening this stone does not require a nagura typically.
