Wooden saya covers are best for most Japanese and carbon steel knives since they allow for proper air circulation to prevent oxidation and corrosion during storage. Wooden sayas will not fit on bolstered knives. Sayas ordered without a matching knife will be sent un-drilled with pin.

Plastic guards are best for stainless steel knives as they are felt lined to prevent damaging the finish, but can hold moisture on blades. Special attention must be taken to make sure both knife and guard are dry before use on carbon steel blades. Exposure to moisture trapped between the guard and steel will lead to corrosion.

Please be advised that sayas are only guaranteed to fit a knife purchased in the same order. If purchased with a knife at the same time, we will drill this saya to fit. All sales are final on drilled sayas.
