Brandon Jew and Friends - ArChan Chan, Mei Lin, Lucas Sin
Brandon Jew is the executive chef / owner of Mister Jiu's and Moongate Lounge, and chef / partner of Mamahuhu. At Mister Jiu's, Brandon’s contemporary Chinese-American restaurant in San Francisco's Chinatown, he combines the local, seasonal and organic bounty of the Bay Area together with classic Chinese techniques and flavors. Brandon's dedication to evolve and define Chinese American cuisine in the Bay Area, and advocate for Chinese food's global recognition has earned him top honors at Mister Jiu’s, including James Beard nomination for Best Chef California 2018, 2020, 2021 and winner for the honor in 2022, one Michelin star for 9 consecutive years running, Bon Appetit Hot 10 2017, and SF Magazine Chef of the Year. Brandon’s cookbook Mister Jiu’s in Chinatown is a 2022 winner of the James Beard Media Award in the Best Restaurant and Professional category. Brandon considers Judy Rodgers (Zuni Café), Michael Tusk (Quince) and his grandma, Ying Ying, to be his most influential mentors.
ArChan Chan is the Executive Chef of Ho Lee Fook and Peng Leng Jeng in Hong Kong, and the author of Hong Kong Local and A Day In Hong Kong, two cookbooks that pay tribute to the city and its culinary identity. Recently awarded One Knife by The Best Chef Awards, ArChan has led Ho Lee Fook into a new chapter since taking the reins in 2021, with the restaurant recognised in Tatler Asia’s Top 100 Restaurants in 2025 and earning continued recognition from the MICHELIN Guide. Known for her contemporary approach to Cantonese cuisine, ArChan’s cooking is shaped by her experiences abroad in Australia and Singapore while remaining deeply connected to the flavours and culture of her hometown. In recognition of her contribution to Hong Kong’s dining scene, she was named Tatler Dining Hong Kong’s Local Champion in 2022.
Mei Lin is a celebrated chef and culinary force whose work has helped shape the modern American dining landscape. A winner of Bravo’s Top Chef and Food Network’s Tournament of Champions IV, Mei honed her craft in some of the country’s most acclaimed kitchens, earning early recognition as one of Eater’s Young Guns. She has since opened three distinct restaurant concepts, each earning national recognition, including honors from GQ, Food and Wine magazine, and James Beard Award nominations. Thoughtful, inventive, and deeply rooted in her upbringing in her family’s Chinese restaurant in Dearborn, Michigan, Mei continues to redefine Chinese-American cuisine with precision, depth, and an unmistakably bold point of view.
Lucas Sin is a chef, writer, and host who opened his first restaurant at 16 in an abandoned Hong Kong newspaper factory, ran pop-ups out of his Yale dorm while studying Cognitive Science and English, and went on to co-found Nice Day Chinese and Junzi Kitchen in New York and Connecticut. He has been named a StarChefs Rising Star, Eater Young Gun, Forbes 30 Under 30, and Food & Wine Best New Chef, and hosts Bon Appétit's James Beard Award–winning series Street Eats. Alongside collaborative tasting menus exploring Chinese culinary history and co-founding the introverted Asian pop-up collective SHY*BOYZCLUB with Eric Sze of 886, he is publishing a cookbook on Hong Kong's iconic diners, Cha Chaan Teng.
