LF&C Universal 12.5” Chef Knife Carbon Steel 1909-1950

LF&C Universal brand chef knife re-handed in rosewood by a previous owner.

Knife dates from 1909 to 1950 Landers Frary & Clark made in New Britain Ct. under their Universal brand.

At one point LF&C was one of the largest knife making outfits in the USA and was a huge kitchen equipment maker as well, their hand ground hand forged after drop forged kitchen knives were made for professional use and were of excellent quality. Their square shaped tang and deep ground bolsters are very characteristic of LF&C and have a great feel.

Edge is a hair over 12 1/2” 2 1/2” wide at heel 18 1/4” overall length 11.6 oz
