Carl Schleipper 11" bullnose knife made in Remscheid, a town adjourning Solingen in the industrial Ruhr region with carbon steel blade, and large brass disc pin and disc rivets over a rosewood handle.
This one is tricky to date, the lack of 'Germany' suggests pre-1891 manufacture however if it was not meant for export to the United States it could be later. Schleipper did make items for export to South East Asia and the rough grinding on this does suggest it was made to be inexpensive. It is a roll forge type blade with the spine thicker than the edge a bit also suggesting it was not an expensive knife in it's day.
Blade had seen some rust leaving some light pits and pepperspots, handle is nice and secure and the blade is still very full not having been oversharpened.
11.25" edge, 16.25" overall 10.7 oz
