Schrade Walden 4.5” Rope / Sailors Knife Walkaid Rope Co 1946-73

4.5” closed Schrade Walden sailors / rope knife with Walkaid advertising shield. This marking of Schrade knives dates it to 1946 to 1973 manufacture but the style of grinding on blade and bolsters suggests early manufacture.

Carbon steel blade, ‘rat tail’ iron boslters (named for the groove that was cut with a rat tail file) and rosewood hafts.

Nice snaps with a little wiggle open, shows wear and use but no abuse, comes with fresh edge.

Founded in 1904 in Walden NY by the Schrade Bros (William, Jacob and George), in 1910 George left the firm to pursue his own manufacturing, all the brothers made innovations in automatic knives as well as producing quality folding knives.
