The result of overwhelming feedback, the Bugout® has been scaled down in the form of the new 533 Mini Bugout®. Available in three different colorways, the Mini Bugout® maintains the same material configuration as its full-sized counterparts in a 1.5 ounce package. With a closed length of 3.7", this ultralight folder is small enough for a mint tin, yet big enough for adventure.

Drop Point Blade Shape

A drop point blade carries a gently descending spine that meets the edge in a strong, well-supported tip. This rounded, controllable point makes drop points excellent all-around cutters, especially in outdoor and everyday use. The shape balances slicing performance with durability, giving it a broad appeal across modern folding knives and field-ready fixed blades.

Medium - Western Stainless

We recommend hand sharpening on whetstones to a low-medium finish starting around 400 and progressing to 1000 grit with a monodiachrome strop finish. Gentle use with steel honing rods work well for as-needed edge maintenance. Avoid pull-through sharpeners and non-water-cooled mechanized sharpening. If you have to use a honing rod to be able to use the knife comfortably, it's time to sharpen the knife.

Carbon (C): 1.40–1.45% | Chromium (Cr): 13.5–14.5% | Molybdenum (Mo): 1.9–2.1% | Vanadium (V): 3.0–4.0%

CPM‑S30V is a balanced PM stainless designed for knives, offering a strong mix of wear resistance, corrosion resistance, and toughness. Usually ~59–61 HRC, it holds a fine working edge and sharpens to a crisp apex without being overly chippy—ideal for premium EDC and kitchen knives.
