The main kanji marking is very stylized and hard to interpret but opposite it is marked in center of blade  '..(To?)kyo tomo no kai', (a gift for a select group of customers at a department store) and near the handle "Kaneso" a knife-shop in Tokyo.

This knife has a light mono-steel carbon blade, no markings as to what the steel is, likely a tool steel. From the era of assumed manufacture it was likely made in the Tokyo area and has all the characteristics of a 'Kanto gyuto' which were light thin monosteel knives with Western style handles. Japanese handles on gyuto are a much more recent phenomenon, this design here is the true old style Japanese chef knife.
