This rare and unique folder by David Boye features his signature cast dendritic cobalt blade, a material known for its impressive corrosion resistance and edge retention—ideal for marine or EDC use. Produced in the early 1990s, this model includes a sleek silver nickel frame with the bow hunter etching on the blade. The frame can be used as tweezers.

This piece represents a transitional era in David Boye’s work with dendritic cobalt steel, where innovative metallurgy met ergonomic design tailored for real-world functionality—especially in marine environments. Early folders are increasingly sought after by collectors for their rarity, innovative materials (at the time) and understated design. This knife was released sometime after 2000.

The knife opens smoothly, locks securely, and shows some light corrosion in the hollow of the cast neck. These Boye folders have become increasingly difficult to find.

This knife is on consignment from a collector it is in excellent condition without packaging.
