Assorted antique American, European or British carbon steel table knife from mid 19th to early 20th century with carbon steel blades, some are silver plated. Handes range from pinned hardwood, cast pewter and hardwood, cow bone, mother of pearl or silver plated brass or pressed celluloid. 

Please note, it is possible for lead to be present in some old pewter alloys, please test before using for food consumption or regular handling, request "no pewter" at checkout if you prefer. 

These have much sharper blades than modern table knives sometimes called “butter knives”, these are capable of taking a keen edge similar on an old carbon steel chef or butcher knife. They do not come sharpened but are sharp enough for table use and can be sharpened for cured meat charcuterie small vegetable work etc.
