Joseph Rodgers (est 1682) and Geo Wostenholm vie for top seat in Sheffield knife making by many estimations. This set is testimony to the quality of Rodgers work. Blade is nice and full with a fresh edge, the fork is free from bends or issues and the swiveling Rogers patent guard is in great shape, an unusual design, the hexagonal sharpening steel has some pits inside the grooves but will still burnish bends out of the edge.

Made between 1901-48 likely for export to Argentina (a major export market for Sheffield) with the mark 'El Trinchante Incomparable'

9" blade with 8" cutting edge

Like all other culinary knives this should never go in the dishwasher, carving knife handles will come loose with high heat (dishwasher, stove top etc), carbon steel can rust if left wet or dirty, expect a patina to form with use.
