The popularity of high quality San Francisco made carving sets from makers such as Will & Finck and Michael Price with their (distinctive antennas on forks and steels) led to a rush by larger East Coast manufacturers to make their own imitations, this set is a classic example of such. These were made much cheaper than the San Francisco made ones and had brightly colored elaborate cardboard boxes that advertised them as “California Carvers”

8” Carbon steel blade, 13” overall with cast pewter bolsters and butt caps on cow bone handles pinned in brass
