NY Knife Co 2 7/8” Dog Leg Jack Knife Pyralin 1856-1931

NY Knife Co Walden 1856-1931 2 7/8” Dog Leg Jack with brown speckled Pyralin handle scales, blades have nice snaps but the scales look to have been sanded or ground and have an irregular texture

NY Knife Co made top quality knives in Walden NY and has a very loyal collector base, this knife is in so-so condition but is still a great example of late NY Knife Co production.

After WW1 DuPont trasitioned it’s nitrocellulose plastic ‘Pyralin’ for non-military use including knife handles. It has a great iridescent 3D quality and is not reactive in the same way that celluloid was.
