Unused vintage from the late 1950s or 1960s made in France set of 6 hand forged after drop forged and hand ground stainless and walnut Sabatier Trompette knife set with 9.5" yataghan slicer, 8.25" bullnose butcher, 3.5" paring, 5" utility, 8" chef and 8.5" narrow yataghan slicer.

Blades sport original unused, factory edges, the walnut handles have shrunk a little exposing a little of their tangs, the handles on the two smaller modified cuisine massive (AKA Nogent style) knives do have some cracks, everything is sold and secure however. A little walnut oil has been applied to the handles to help rehydrate them and make them a little water resistant other than that these are untouched and in pristine condition. Box shows some wear and stains, the wall hanging storage 'house' is also in perfect condition.

These were drop forged to form the blade shape and bolster and then hand forged to draw out the tang and thin the blade, these were then hand ground and given a fine finish and represent some of the finer work done in Thiers in their day. The name Ekco is associated with cheaper kitchen equipment but these are definitely not that and fly under the radar sometimes. They were produced by Sabatier Trumpet in Thiers France as their trademark guarantees.

Please note the factory edge is not screaming sharp, if you plan to use these please request a free sharpening before they ship out, we have left them as is for any collectors who want them in original condition.
