Refurbished Crown Cutlery (an import brand) 8.5" cuisine massive / Nogent style chef knife with hand forged carbon steel blade, old style brazed nickel ferrule and one piece ebony handle. 

Knife had been sharpened in a bit and had a wonky shaped tip when found, it has been reprofiled and thinned behind the edge for smooth cutting, the blade is thin and nimble but stiffer than its thickness might suggest. The ebony handle has a crack but is otherwise solid.
