Wood Tools The Carving Axe

The carving axe by wood tools was designed to accommodate as large a variety of carvers as possible. The 19.4 oz (550 grams) head has a wide blade area with flat bevels and a handle length of 12.5" (31cm). It's mid weight size offers enough punch to remove wood effectively yet is light enough to facilitate controlled work without excessive fatigue.  We recommend protecting the edge with a guard. 

These are carbon steel, care must be taken to avoid rust.  Being carbon steel, they may show small spots or signs of light cosmetic patina in new, unused condition.  We have ensured this will not effect the performance or quality of the axe.

Father and daughter team Robin and JoJo Wood lead the production of wood carving tools specially designed for spoon carving.

The designs are based on their their combined experience in carving paired with  Robin's decades of experience forging tools while using and teaching spoon carving throughout the UK.
