J Russell Green River Works Carving Set Carved Stag Alligators 1880s-1920

J Russell Green River Works 3 pc carving set with a distinctive carved alligator stag tip handles made between the 1880s and 1920. 

Carbon steel blade is nice and full without any heavy grinding or damage, some rust formed some patches of pits on blade, fork and steel are in great shape, the color of the steel is a little darker as per usual as typically these did not get washed and exposed to water like the fork and knife. Sadly the little glass eyes of the alligators are all lost but one, they still maintain their cheecky expressions though. 

J Russell Green River Co was the first major American cutlery manufacturer scaling up to the USA's largest manufacturer in the 1860s and 70s. This set comes from the later part of the 19th century when they were making some higher end carving sets. 

Knife is 8.75" from tip to handle and overall length is 14.25" weight for all three is 12.3 oz
