Porous Ceramics BBQ Konro User Instructions

Preparation:

Only put in enough binchotan to cover the bottom. Adding more will make the fire too strong.

Lighting:

  1. Light fire starter (gel or solid form are easiest), gather the coals on top. It is also fine to place some coals on a grate and hold them over a flame to light them as a starter.

  2. Once you see that the coals are completely lit, spread the coals around.

Use:

Adjust the strength of the flame by closing/opening the air window.

When adding more coal during cooking, make sure not to overfill per “Preparation” step instructions.

Finishing:

  1. Finished coals should be disposed of after they have completely cooled off, or placed in water to cool. (But do NOT pour water directly into the Konro).

  2. Do not put water in the Konro, sudden change in temperature will cause breakage.

  3. Wipe off any grime with a wet towel

  4. Put away the Konro only when it is completely cool

  5. Wash the grill grate with a tawashi with some dish soap

Other:

  1. Never pour water onto the Konro. If a small amount of water gets on it by accident, dry by wiping. If a large amount of water accidentally gets on, dry by placing some lighted coals inside.

  2. The bottom will become extremely hot. Make sure there is nothing flammable touching the bottom, such as mats or rugs. Using on top of wood flooring or tabletops also runs the risk of warping the wood, make sure to place a heat resistant barrier in between.

  3. Secure ventilation if using indoors

  4. Do not move the Konro while in use for risk of burns.

  5. Always stay by the side of the Konro while in use.

  6. The metal components of the Konro will become extremely hot. Use caution when touching.

  7. This product is ceramic- dropping, bumping into it with strong force may cause breakage.
