Whetstone from Swedish shale, quarried and sawn in Loos in northern Hälsingland. Well known to make a sharp edge among Swedish craftsmen. It is useful when sharpening everything from your dear axe to knives, scissors or anything with an edge.

The shale is made from mud packed under huge pressure for billions of years, making a high density and even grit well suited for sharpening. The grit varies around 1000.

The sharpening effect is improved with water on the stone, as it removes swarf and stops it from clogging the sharp grit.

The size is big enough to get a comfortable grip, and small enough to fit in your pocket. It is thin enough to sense the edge through the stone when sharpening. Can be placed on the table and used as a small bench stone for small things like knives.
