The 'Pialincu' and 'Sperone' lockbacks are decedents of the classic 'Corsican Vendetta pattern'. The 'Corsican Vendetta' knife was invented in Thiers for tourists visiting Corsica in the latter half of the 19th century. It has made it's way into the lexicon of regional French knives even though it owes it's origin to imagination.
