Bernal Cutlery is excited to introduce our line of dashi packets made in Japan.
A rarity for dashi, the Vegetarian Dashi Packets are completely plant based and great for western dishes. They do not contain preservatives or MSG.
A balanced blend of 2 types of onion, cabbage, carrots, and ginger with an accent of celery seed. Comes with 5 packets in a resealable bag.
Instructions for broth: Place 1 dashi packet in 400-500ml of cold water, heat on low-medium until it reaches a soft boil. Turn heat down to low and continue for 5 minutes while occasionally stirring. You can also use a cold brew method by putting the packet in water overnight in the fridge.
In addition to using for making dashi broth, the packets can also be opened up to use as dashi powder for an easy way to add flavor to any dish. Suggested recipes include mixing with cold milk for a Vichyssoise-like soup, sprinkling on top of French fries or mixing into eggs for a Japanese tamago sando.
Instead of packing a thermos of coffee or tea, why not bring hot dashi? Simply place a dashi packet and hot water in your insulated beverage holder of choice.
Contents: 35g (7gx 5 packets). Ingredients: Hydrolyzed starch, onion extract powder (hydrolyzed starch, onion), salt, onion, yeast extract, cabbage, carrots, glucose, ginger, celery seed.
Store away from direct light, high temperatures or high humidity. Once opened, seal for freshnessseal and finish promptly. When storing at high temperatures the contents can clump. Non-plant based products are processed in the same facility.
