Hand forged on a spring hammer after being drop forged and hand ground Ernst Röttgen brand slicer with the post war handle shape of the 1950s and 60s (round transition from bolster to handle) with a lot of taper on the blade spine and handle tang. This knife has an early iteration of pakka wood; a composite wood made of sheets of hardwood impregnated with plastic resin for durability. In the 1970s this material would replace solid wood and stainless steel would replace carbon, this knife represents a transitional style with it's hand forged carbon and pakka, a less common combination.

This knife was a little thick behind the edge from being sharpened in a little, it has been re-ground on the face to bring it back to its original thinness.
