Tichet slicer made in Paris in the late 19th or early 20th century. Hand forged carbon steel blade, brazed seam nickel ferrule and horn handle.

Tichet was one of the few knife makers to continue to make knives in Paris into the early 20th century and have a distinctive geometry and feel as well as the distinctive Lion stamp. Their forging, heat treatment and grinding in this era are really excellent, some of the best work being done in France at the time.

This knife was sharpened down some, originally a bit wider its edge got thick and was thinned along the faces to bring it back to a good geometry to slice with, the hot stamps are nice and deep so not much was lost. The only other issue is a bug bite on the horn handle.

Blade is 10" 13.75" overall 2.87 oz
