Vintage Friedr Herder Constant series hand ground stainless steel 9” slicer made around the 1960’s. These were an excellent hand ground thin convex faced stainless knife for their day and are great examples of mid century design. Stainless blade with pakka wood handle with famous spade rivet.

Blade is very full and free from damage, the only issue with this knife is a burn on the butt of the handle.

Friedr. Herder Abr Sohn company is the longest continually operating knife making operation in Solingen Germany. It’s famous Pikas spade logo was registered in 1727 although their place in Solingen’s blade making traces further back. Friedr Herder has kept many old patterns in carbon steel in production and offers a variety of new production knives for professionals and home cooks.
