Tactile Knife Company
Based in Dallas Texas with origins in high-end, precision made pens, Tactile Knife Company sets themselves apart by promoting their manufacturing approach as focusing on the best way to do the job.
Blades are cut with Wire Electrical Discharge Machine for accuracy in the 0.001-0.005” range. Raw materials and ceramic bearings are outsourced while parts like screws and pivots are made in-house. This is unusual in the folding knife industry, especially with plans to hopefully bring in those aspects of manufacturing in the future to help quality-control high and timelines reasonable.
We used them around the shop for several weeks prior to deciding to carrying them. The MagnaCut steel blades are great to sharpen in their class and hold an edge through stacks and stacks (and stacks) of cardboard boxes. The actions stays smooth and the locks are poppy and satisfying. The models we tested were solid but light with a firm grip thanks to the grooved titanium scales. They feel slim and unobtrusive in the pocket.
We are excited to introduce them to the store and are looking forward to sharing them.
